Description

Acapulco is by Alcatraz, a stallion who is known around the world for the versatile success of his offspring. Starting off with an unprecedented score and top placing at his 1988 testing, Alcatraz maintained his status as a top sire in the indices and FN rankings for many years. Alcatraz represents, as inherited from his sire Aloube Z, the very successful combination of the very best French blood from the world famous Alme Z and some of the best Hanoverian jumping genes from the great stallion Gotthard. He also brings the influence one of Holstein's most successful mare lines, stamm 242.

Acapulco's dam is the mare Scarlett, a daughter of the Oldenburg "Sire of the Century", Argentinus. In 1996, Argentinus entered a new class of rankings, becoming the youngest "millionaire" stallion, measured by the prize winnings of his offspring, which reached international levels in both dressage and jumping. Indeed, he followed up this auspicious achievement by increasing the prize money earnings in excess of two million Euros. Among his most famous offspring are A Jungle Prince, Adlantus As FRH (Lars Neiberg), Anka (Marcus Ehning), Arko (Nick Skelton), Albano (Heike Kemmer), Aleppo, August der Starke and Amaretto.

Further in the pedigree of Acapulco is the very successful refinement sire Salient xx, and the Holsteiner supersire Calypso I, the dam's sire of Acord I, II and III.
