Sporty, sporty, sporty!
I-MaiTai has had one foal, the top scoring filly of the RPSI's 2012 tour, Coco Chanel OHF(Coconut Grove). She is completely sound for sport but has only been used for breeding. She has been lightly backed in the winter of 2012 and could either continue her training or return to breeding, where her value is already proven.
I-MaiTai is by the wildly successful sire Mezcalero, stallion in residence at October Hill Farm and father of many, many accomplished international showjumpers including Apache (Richard Spooner) and Mississippi LS (Angel Karolyi). Mezcalero is a son of the celebrated Voltaire from the mare Olympic Zamira (Ramiro), who represented Holland in international competition.
I-Maitai's dam Anjou OHF was shown briefly under the name Alafair to championships in the hunter ring, but the bigger story is in her own dam, Wallonin, aka Alan Paul Wallonin, who was ridden in FEI level competitions by Geoff Billington. Wallonin's sire Watzmann xx, also the sire of the stallion Fox Hunter who stood for many years at Spruce Meadows, but was mostly known as a sire of great mares, many of which are used for jumping ability both in sport and in breeding.
