Facility

October Hill Farm is located in Hudson Oaks, Texas, 25 miles west of Fort Worth and just a one-hour drive from the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. October Hill Farm is situated on over 200 acres of sandy loam hillsides overlooking the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. The heavily wooded river bed serves as a lovely backdrop to our pastoral meadows, where, along with our horses, you may spot whitetail deer, bobcats, native birds, and other wildlife. Spacious paddocks, shaded by aged oak, pecan and bois d’arc trees, surround our centrally located barns and service buildings. Within these expansive, grassy enclosures, the needs of our young and developing horses are well-met.

Indoor Arena

Central to our operation is our 120′ by 240′ riding space that is made only more impressive by the state-of-the-art riding surface, custom mixed and installed by ESI, Equine Services International, footing specialists for some of the nation’s top showjumping venues. Beneath our footing, a Bacher Products ArenaWet watering system keeps the riding surface dust-free and in top condition for our training and lessons. Our horses never miss a day of training due to inclement weather thanks to our soaring enclosed space.

Training Barns

A true hive of activity, these two barns with 23 stalls between them provide not only efficient work space for our busy team, but loads of ventilation for their equine residents. Wash stalls with hot water, an equine treadmill, and private lockers for boarders are among the many amenities.

Breeding Barn

Steps away from the Training Barns, this 10 stall building provides oversized stalls for our broodmares and foals, as well as interim stabling for stallions during breeding season. It is also the location of our well-equipped lab, breeding room, and secondary farm offices.

North Barn

This 20 stall shed row barn provides additional space for training horses as well as our lesson horses, and features automatic waterers, fly system and matted floors.

Freejump Pen

Our Hitchcock style oval pen provides an efficient spot to free jump youngsters and offers an elevated viewing platform for spectators. It’s a great location from which to observe our young and unstarted sale horses and procure your next champion.

Kraft Walker

Our Kraft Walker is a part of every horse’s day at October Hill Farm. This ground standing walker with a full roof provides daily essential exercise for up to six horses at a time while providing shade from the sun and shelter from bad weather.

Pastures/Turnouts

All of our pastures, fourteen in all, are fenced with five foot tall wood plank fencing with no shared fence lines between enclosures. We believe this fencing provides the safest barriers for our horses. Boarding clients are able to enjoy the beautiful Texas countryside on their trail ride outings to the river and beyond.
