We know and love horses. Let our team guide you in your goals and dreams. Our team is ready to take you to new places.
A rider from a young age, Wendy Gerrish is the President and General Manager of October Hill, overseeing all facets of the farm’s daily activity. She is also the supervisor of the Breeding Program and manages the breeding stallions in residence. A rider from a very young age, Wendy spent many years showing in the hunter ring, earning many championships at the A/O level. A graduate of Vanderbilt University with a Masters in Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University, she is a busy mom to two cute kids and a volunteer with various non-profit organizations including the American Holsteiner Horse Association.
From the age of six, Erin has been on or around horses, competing first on ponies and then, by her twenties, representing Zone 7 in the Young Riders Championships. Her first Grand Prix win came in 1997. An international level Grand Prix rider with many placings, Erin continues to compete now as an amateur on many of October Hill’s horses, including many that she has bred herself. Erin’s passions include being a mom to her daughter Ella, a fierce leadline competitor, her husband Christian, and her cat, Bob, a famous feline on the horse show circuit.
A graduate of University of Findlay, Kayce’s degree in equine studies has been put to very good use in the daily management needs of our over 50 horses. Kayce brings sizeable organizational capabilities and communication skills to her critical role on the farm, scheduling and movement of horses and the team to and from their show locations and squeezing in the time to teach lessons on most days. Kayce balances her job with duties as a mother of two with a small baking business, Kayce’s Kitchen, which she runs out of her home.
Nico joined our October Hill Farm team in early 2021 as an assistant rider and trainer. Like the rest of our team, he is a lifelong equestrian, having been introduced to horses at an early age by his father, an equine veterinarian, and his mother, a horse show office secretary for many national events. Prior to his arrival at October Hill, Nico gained international experience at the stables of Ludger Beerbaum in Europe.
Raeann came to us from the University of Findlay where she was involved in the Equine Studies program. She joined our teaching staff in 2020 and provides instruction for our beginners and young riders.
Brooke joined our teaching staff in the early spring of 2022, training our intermediate level riders of all ages. She grew up on horseback in east Texas, worked for the Brunson Farm, then held an intern position at a busy show stable in Europe before joining our team.
Vivian oversees billing and payment services at October Hill Farm, and is often the voice on the end of the line when there is a question about an invoice. She is part of our larger support team at our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth.
Visitors to October Hill Farm notice the daily handiwork of Drake Camilleri, our full time assistant head of maintenance at October Hill Farm. Whether he’s fixing a fence, mending a broken pipe, mowing our greenspace or dragging the arena, he’s always on the move and keeps the place looking wonderful.
