Description

Wherever Zirocco Blue competes, all eyes are upon him with his scope and jumping style and efficiency. Under Jur Vrieling he has achieved several very impressive international results. He won the World Cup of Oslo, the Grand Prix’s of Melsomvik and Geesteren, the Masters in Mechelen and the Grand Prix of KWPN Stallion Show. With all these victories he has won three cars! In 2013, Zirocco Blue won the Grand Prix and Nations Cup at Copenhagen, the Nations Cup of Gijon and the Grand Prix at Vestfold. In Den Bosch he won soundly the VHO Trophy of 2012. In 2015 he already won the Grand Prix of Vestfold.

Thanks to his great performances Zirocco Blue is a member of the Olympic ‘Kader’ and the foundation Nederlands Olympiade Paard (N.O.P.) has secured him for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016. Now Zirocco Blue carries the letter N.O.P. in his name indicating this honored accomplishment.

The mother of Zirocco, Licorne des Forets, is by Voltaire out of a mare by Le Tot de Sémilly.  She jumped Grand Prix with Audrey and Fabrice Paris. It is a mare line that has produced some very good sport horses.  Grandmother Gekas des Forets jumped 1.40 m and was the most winning 6 year old of France.  Great grandmother Rhapsody II also jumped to 1.40 m. She is the sister of the approved stallion and international jumping Stew Boy. This line several approved stallions, national and international show jumpers.

Flirtini's dam is Andoctra HH, bred by Hillside H Ranch of Missouri, from one of their foundation mares, Princess Queenie.  Queenie was shown as a young horse by Margie Engle and is herself the daughter of Margie's Grand Prix mare, Caribbean Queen (aka Power and Beauty).  At her inspection, Andoctra received the highest free jumping scores of the entire AHHA tour.  She was also the highest scoring North American bred mare that year.  She competed with Wilhelm Genn in 5 year old YJC events and ended her first year of showing as the Zone 7 5-year old Young Jumper champion.  This success brought additional recognition from the AHHA in the form of a Mare Performance Testing designation.

Her 2012 foal by Calido was premium and then went on to earn a premium select score as a 3  year old with free jumping scores of 9,8,8.  Besides Flirtini, she produced two additional Zirocco Blue foals which were sold in utero in 2015.
